Shanghai Center for Cassava Biotechnology (Sino-Swiss Cooperation)
Shanghai Center for Cassava Biotechnology (SCCB) is a joint "virtual laboratory" supported by Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIBS, CAS) and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich) in order to formalize and intensify bilateral collaborations, sharing of resources, development of common research interests and training of scientists in the field of cassava and sweetpotato biotechnology. Since its foundation in April 2007, SCCB has became an advanced biotechnology laboratory to answer basic scientific questions related to the constraints of cassava and sweetpotato production and to develop technologies for bridging the gap of scientific discoveries and applications.
