A post-doctoral position available in Dr. Yongping Huang’s lab


The Huang lab is looking for an outstanding postdoctoral fellow starting from Spring in 2012. We are seeking a motivated, creative postdoctoral fellow to work in insect molecular biology and cell biology. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field with first-author paper(s). Applicants should have excellent communication skills in English, and ability to conduct research independently. The ideal candidate would have experience in molecular biology, DNA and RNA isolation, quantitative RT-PCR, Western blotting, RNA interference, establishing and using transient and stable cell clones, and ability to implement a variety of assays as needed. Experience in insect physiology and insect molecular biology is preferred but not required. Candidates are expected to work closely with the other lab members and coordinate with a number of collaborations with other labs.

Long term of our lab is insect molecular genetics and insect functional genomics. Currently we are focusing on insect genetic control, RNAi mechanism in Lepidoptera and functional analysis of insect microRNA.
