Research Assistant/Lab manager positions available in Prof. Ian T. Baldwin’s group

Prof. Baldwin is a member of the National Academy of Sciences. The major research field of Prof. Baldwin’s group is molecular ecology of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) plants. 
 
1、Lab manager
Job/position description:
We are seeking a Lab Manager with the primary duty to organize and manage a highly dynamic and interdisciplinary international laboratory. The Lab Manager will be responsible for all aspects of laboratory management, including equipment maintenance and supervision of laboratory reagent stocks, contact and acquisitions from external suppliers and contractors, funding management and archiving metadata of laboratory workflows. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute in project management and translate documents from English into Chinese and vice versa. The postholder will work closely with prof. Baldwin, principal investigators within the team, and administration and supporting services of CEMPS.
 
Basic requirement:
1)Candidate should have a master or higher degree in Plant biology or related life science discipline (Ecology, Biochemistry, Agronomy, Medicinal botany).
2)Candidate should have high sense of responsibility and initiative, and full of team spirit.
3)Candidate should be fluent in Chinese and English. 
 
2、Research assistant
Job/position description:
We are seeking a research assistant with a primary duty to collect and translate information about TCM plants. The research assistant will be responsible for bridging scattered information about TCM plants with standard scientific knowledge, including standardization of name (Chinese name, English name and Latin name) of TCM plants, description of morphology, phytochemistry, habitat and interacting organisms of TCM plants, translation of related information from Chinese into English and vice versa. The postholder will work closely with prof. Baldwin and principal investigators within the team.
 
Basic requirement:
1)Candidate should have PhD degree in Botany or related discipline (Plant taxonomy, Plant ecology, medicinal botany).
2)Candidate should have strong passionate with scientific research, with high sense of responsibility and initiative, and full of team spirit.
3)Strong attention to details, good communication and interpersonal skills are essential to this role as well as good level of English and Chinese speaking, reading and writing skills. 
4)Candidate should have postdoctoral work experience.
