On the 28^th June 2024, Tom Crawley (Deputy Director for Programmes and Partnerships, UKRI International), Dr Daniel Brooker (UKRI China Director), Ms Fang Ma (UKRI China Programme Manager) and Ms Jessica Jiang visited the CAS Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Sciences in Shanghai. The objective of the visit was to understand CEPAMS in order to support UK-China research collaborations in plant health and inform UK efforts to support the research collaboration.

Prof. Yu Zhang and Dr Daniel Brooker gave introductions to CEPAMS and UKRI respectively. A progressive discussion was held with other members of CEMPS: Prof. Xiufang Xin, Prof. Qihua Ling, Prof. Weibing Yang, Prof. Dapeng Li, Prof. Xiaofei Yang and Prof. Hiromu Kameoka.

The delegates took a tour of Prof. Xiufang Xin's lab, Prof. Weibing Yang's lab and Prof. Dapeng Li's lab.

The parties agreed that they are looking for research directions of mutual interest to be included in their future UK-China flagship programme.
